Souphanouvong University regards student outbound mobility as one of its important tasks as it is a part of the university mission of internationalization. It has been trying with its efforts in mobilizing its students as much as possible. However, since the university lack funding to support students and the students themselves also come from poor backgrounds plus students have a limitation in foreign language proficiency, the number of the outgoing students is very low comparing to other universities in the region.

Outbound mobility of the university happens only when a student is fully funded by the host universities or an organization.

Since its establishment, Souphanouvong University has sent 96 students to join mobility programs abroad. These students got full financial support from the host universities and the governments of the host universities. The following are the details of the outbound students starting from the academic year 2012-2013:

• In academic year 2012-2013, 29 Bachelor scholarships to study in Vietnam;
• In academic year 2013-2014, 13 Bachelor scholarships to study in Vietnam;
• In academic year 204-2015, 6 Bachelor scholarships to study in Vietnam;
• In academic year 2015-2016, 5 Bachelor scholarships to study in Vietnam;
• In academic year 2016-2017, 6 Bachelor scholarships to study in Vietnam;
• In academic year 2017-2018, 18 Bachelor scholarships to study in Vietnam;
• In academic year 2019-2020, 19 Bachelor scholarships to study in Shanghai Institute of Technology, China.
